This Privacy Policy applies to ColonyIQ and ColonyIQ Beekeeping (collectively, “the Service”), operated by Jason Bragg. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you use ColonyIQ or ColonyIQ Beekeeping, we collect:

• Account information — your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth)
• Beekeeping data — colony records, queen data, test results, inspection logs, and any other information you enter into the Service
• Usage data — basic analytics about how you use the app (page views, feature usage) to help us improve the Service
• Purchase information — subscription plan and status (processed by Apple App Store or Stripe; we do not store full payment card details)
• Photos — images you upload for hygienic testing (FKB, UBO, PKB); stored securely and used only for AI scoring within your account

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the ColonyIQ Service
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Process subscription payments and verify entitlements
• Improve and develop new features
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information or beekeeping data to any third parties.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us.

4. Cookies

ColonyIQ uses essential cookies and session tokens to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ColonyIQ:

• Supabase — database, file storage, and authentication
• Vercel — web hosting and edge functions
• Resend — transactional email (password resets, notifications)
• Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions
• Apple App Store / Apple IAP — in-app subscription purchases on iOS; payments are processed by Apple under their own privacy policy
• RevenueCat — subscription management and receipt validation for iOS; receives your anonymised user ID and purchase status
• Anthropic Claude — AI image scoring for hygienic test results; photos are sent to Anthropic's API and are subject to their data handling policies

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your beekeeping data

7. In-App Purchases

ColonyIQ offers optional paid subscriptions via Apple In-App Purchase. Payments are processed entirely by Apple. We receive only your subscription status and plan type — not your payment card details. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions).

8. Children's Privacy

ColonyIQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
